Contributor Terms

1. Introduction These Contributor Terms (“Terms”) govern the submission of content (including but not limited to text, photography, video, audio, and links to external portfolios) to Humans of Mallorca (“we,” “us,” or “the Platform”). By submitting content via our forms, email, direct transfer, or by providing access to approved content sources (such as cloud folders or social media profiles), you (“the Contributor” or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Grant of License You retain full ownership and copyright of your content. However, by submitting content, you grant Humans of Mallorca a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and sub-licensable license to:

• Publish and Display: Use, reproduce, and display the content on our website, social media channels (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn), and newsletters.
• Edit and Adapt: Modify, crop, reformat, and shorten the content to fit our design and editorial standards.
• Translate: Translate the text into other languages (including Spanish, Russian, German, etc.) to reach our international audience.
• Promote: Use excerpts or derivatives of the content for promotional materials related to Humans of Mallorca.

3. Whitelisted Sources If you provide us with a link to a “Whitelisted Source” (e.g., a Google Drive folder, Instagram profile, or personal blog) and authorize us to curate content from it:

• You confirm that any content we select from these sources is covered by the License granted in Section 2.
• This authorization remains valid until you revoke it in writing via email.

4. No Compensation Unless expressly agreed otherwise in a separate written contract, all submissions are voluntary. You acknowledge that no financial compensation (royalties, fees, or payments) will be provided for the use of your content. The benefits provided to you are limited to exposure, attribution, and backlinks.

5. Attribution (Credit) We agree to provide clear credit to you in connection with the publication of your content.

• Format: Credit will typically be given in the form of your Name or Social Media Handle (e.g., “Photo by: @YourFullName”).
• Placement: The placement of the credit is at our discretion but will generally be in the caption, image tag, or author box.

6. Warranties and Representations You represent and warrant that:

• You are the sole and original author of the content.
• You have obtained all necessary releases/permissions from any identifiable persons appearing in your photos/videos.
• The content does not violate any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
• The content does not contain hate speech, defamation, or illegal material.

7. Indemnification You agree to indemnify and hold Humans of Mallorca harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from a breach of your warranties (e.g., if you submit stolen content and we are sued).

8. Removal of Content While the license is perpetual, we respect our contributors. If you wish to have your content removed, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to remove it from our website, though we cannot guarantee removal from third-party platforms where it may have been shared.
