Sibylle is known in her Barrio of Mallorca as ‘the Red Witch’. The red hair and the Mallorca birthmark, sets her apart as someone destined to be a Human of Mallorca.
She has a story to tell, and she encourages all to do the same. She defies the logic that to live in Mallorca you must have money, plans and structure. She arrived with 400 euros, a car full of toys and a seven-year-old daughter, in 2019. A room rental and a modest start to the greatest adventure of her life.
Mallorca was not in her consciousness until a friend in Germany took pity on her, and gave her money for a modest holiday, to catch her breath after a difficult time. It was on this four day break she discovered an island and a place with which she immediately felt a connection. As if she had lived there before, in a different life.
Sibylle’s free spirit, her theatre empowerment courses, and her occasional use of the tarot sets the scene. She can be found in many places on the island sharing her knowledge. The early years have seen her cleaning houses, serving tables, teaching, mentoring and living a full life of possibilities. The 400 euros of the early days is a memory and hard work and the covid years held many lessons. Her five children come and go and find it cool that Mum is living her best life, in the vibe of Mallorca.
Sibylle’s previous life on the shores of Lake Constance (a 63km-long central European lake which borders Germany, Austria and Switzerland) was full of beauty. Being a human of Mallorca gives her a different beauty, and the knowledge that this is her destiny and place in the universe.
