Sail into adventure: explore Mallorca’s coastline with “Rapita Charter”

If you’re dreaming of a Mediterranean adventure, look no further than “Rapita Charter”. Join Raimundo, a Mallorcan sea-lover and restorer of classic boats, as he and his loyal dog guide you to Mallorca’s hidden coves and crystal-clear waters on one of his lovingly restored vessels.

The skipper’s story: a lifelong bond with the sea

Raimundo’s love affair with the open sea began as a boy on the eastern shores of Mallorca in Porto Colom, where he spent summers exploring the coastline with his family. At just 12, he was already working on his own wooden boat – and soaking up the island’s maritime traditions. This passion led him to restore classic boats over the years, including the iconic Mallorcan llaut, Sol, and his cherished sailing yacht, Arabian Horse.

“Restoring Sol taught me invaluable lessons in traditional wooden boatbuilding, a craft that originated at the Jaume Cifre shipyard in Porto Colom. I’ve owned other boats, including a Puma 23, Ferrer Rosselló llauts, and the Tornado catamaran. Eight years ago, I bought the Arabian Horse to restore it. It was an exciting project that helped me understand the craftsmanship of one of Spain’s top shipyards, Astilleros Belliure. Restoring boats and then sailing them has always been my passion.”

Twenty-seven years ago, a journey around Mallorca brought him to Sa Rapita, where he met Ana, now his wife and partner in this coastal venture.
