Emma arrived in Mallorca at 5 days old. The youngest daughter of parents from the UK and USA, and granddaughter of a mountain matriarch of the Tramuntana, who had been in residence since 1958. The stage was set, the seeds planted for Emma’s Mallorca life. Thereafter her growing up years included annual summer months in Mallorca and becoming intertwined with the family of her local Nanny. Fluent language and complete familial association were the result.
A New York life, influenced by the glitz of being a ‘Bernbach’ (have you seen the series Mad Men?) were Emma’s growing up years. At 18 she was anxious to discover her English roots and begin her life’s journey. Her ambitions were to be an actor and to be a mum. LAMDA was her training, immediately followed by two years on stage at the National Theatre. Early success in London was gratifying but family mattered more and is what took her back to New York.
A new life began of marriage, motherhood and permanent relocation to the island which is in her soul. The busy family and working years continue but the acting gene, having lain dormant for a while, has been reignited.
Emma answered the call and had a role in the Spanish series ‘La Fortuna’. Word got round that Emma was back and ready to resume her life as a working actor. A great Spanish agent and an introduction to the commercials world have seen her in many roles. You will have seen her in ads for Aldi, Toyota, Curealeaf, Over 50’s Dating App and many more. Auditions and waiting for the director to say ‘yes’ is now a part of her life. To be a working actor and earn enough to contribute to family finances is a great achievement. The fun, travel and Spanish acting experience is exactly what she wants to do right now.
Has Emma, a Human of Mallorca, achieved her ambitions? The answer is a resounding yes…
