‘I am Dirk from Bonn, an Officer of the Environment. I am on holiday with Friedhelm who is an IT expert. We live in Bonn which from1949 to 1990 was the provisional capital of West Germany. Bonn also served as the seat of the German federal government from 1990 until 1999–2000, when the government completed its move to Berlin.
We are travelling Mallorca today in the car, sightseeing and revisiting our favourite places. Christmas and New Year on this island was an ambition of ours and here we are. Twelve days to enjoy Mallorca, which has been my happy place for over 40 years.
We are staying in Can Pastilla in a great hotel. This location works for us because everywhere is accessible by foot, bus, and our hire car. It’s also ten minutes away from the airport. We have experienced many seasons in our trips. This winter one is a delight with the lack of crowds and the great winter weather.
To share another countries Christmas is very interesting and we are enjoying learning about the different traditions of the island.
The question ‘are you a Human of Mallorca?’ is easy to answer. We have travelled to many places and life and work takes us to new places every year. However, we always visit Mallorca at least once a year, and sometimes more. We are Humans of Mallorca, and the island calls us back regularly.
We are definitely humans of Mallorca and find ourselves constantly surprised at how much can be found, and experienced, on such a small island. This island has it all from mountains to sea to the abundance of nature in all its forms. We enjoy everything here and will return often’.
