Simon and Debra Reynolds found their ‘Place in the Sun’ in Mallorca

When the TV production company came knocking in  a few months ago they wanted an English contact.  Someone who understood the mind-set and could speak the language.  ‘A Place in the Sun’ was filming in the Port of Soller.

The Soller Valley has great estate agents who are experienced, multilingual and efficient. For this project it had to be someone English. The hunt was on, and it was obvious who they would choose because Simon Reynolds was the only Soller Agent to fit the bill.   For Simon all he wanted to do was sell a fine Port of Soller property and win the battle of the Ports as seen on the TV programme.

Simon Reynolds made his own journey here some ten years ago  He arrived with the lovely Debra and decided that their relocation from Harrogate would be to downtown Soller.  They both had a huge history with Majorca and were part of The Molins hotel crowd in Cala San Vincente from the late 1960’s. This is where they met, and their love story began.

Simon was part of the ‘Scheerers’ dynasty of Leeds. The shop specialized in drums, acoustic, classical guitars, brass, woodwind and stringed instruments, along with the sheet music. Supplying instruments to schools was the bulk of the business which eventually was affected by the cheap imports from China. Tough decisions were made, the shop closed, and Simon and Debra headed for a new life in Mallorca.

The rest they say is history.  Simon sells house in Mallorca and Debra teaches young people English and prepares them for exams.

From early years in Mallorca their life has come full circle, and they are living in their ‘Place in the Sun’.

Just for your information Simon was a successful agent for the TV programme.  A great place was identified and purchased thanks to his efforts. Happy clients and great TV!
