Mimi Dean. Football or criminology, Mallorca or England — tough call

Football was Mimi’s first love from the age of 5. The only girl in the team and a unique place in Mallorcan village life. This was her world for eight years until the day came when boys and girls could no longer play in the same team. Son Sardina’s fine women’s football team was waiting for Mimi and was a senior challenge. Time passed but she played on until she had to get on the aeroplane for the English University of Loughborough.

The premier Sports University was her choice, and she is at home in the elite team. Like all young sports people she must keep all her options open. Sport must go alongside a degree, so that choices in the future can be made. She is loving the Criminology route she has chosen and is having the best time. A combination world of interesting studies and superior level sport.

Magnificent sporting opportunities exist for the Children of Mallorca if families can afford the fees. Sport in schools is limited and ex curricular. Afternoons are full of football, tennis, volleyball, basketball, swimming, dancing, running and track and field events, which are all there for a price.

Mimi is a Human of Mallorca and is fluent in the languages of the Island. One more year of studies and then the world of work or sport opens for her. The location is also a big consideration as this Human of Mallorca loves her island and wants to live here. The temptations of Barcelona, Madrid or London is also on the horizon, and this is the year of choice. Who will snap her up first is the question? Will it be football or Criminology?
